How to watch instantly

How can I instantly watch right on my TV?

You can watch instantly via your Xbox 360, PS3, Wii or any other device that streams instantly from Netflix.

Xbox 360

Simply click on Netflix in the Video Marketplace. Follow the onscreen instructions to connect your Xbox 360 to your Netflix account. Xbox LIVE Gold membership is required.

PS3

On your PS3, visit the PlayStation Network section of the main menu. Simply install Netflix from the "What's New" area and then follow the on screen instructions.

Wii

Simply click on Netflix in the Wii Shop. Follow the on screen instructions to connect your Wii to your Netflix account.

Other Devices

You can also watch instantly via some Internet connected Blu-ray players as well as some Internet connected HDTVs. Click here to see a list of these other devices.

Can I watch instantly on my iPad or iPhone too?

Yes. Just download the FREE Netflix application from the Apple App store and log into your Netflix account.

Can I instantly watch movies streamed from Netflix over the Internet to my PC or Mac?

Yes. Simply press Play on any TV episode or movie to instantly watch it online on your Internet-connected PC or Mac.

How fast does the TV episode or movie start playing?

Fast – movies & TV episodes start playing in seconds. It will depend on the speed of your broadband Internet connection. Movies & TV episodes are streaming over the Internet, so you don't have to wait for them to download. There are no commercials and you can pause, rewind, or fast forward as often as you like. Watching for 1 hour will use approximately 1GB of bandwidth or approximately 2GB if you are watching in HD. You have the option to set your account to "no HD" if you prefer. Check with your Internet provider for information on possible data usage charges.

How fast does my broadband Internet connection need to be to watch instantly?

Watching instantly works with all different levels of broadband, however, we recommend a minimum speed of 500kbps (0.5MB).

What is Starz Play?

Starz Play service choices are incremental to the continually growing Netflix library available to watch instantly. Starz Play includes approximately 1,000 movies, Original Series, and other entertainment. These choices include new releases from major Hollywood studios such as Walt Disney Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Overture Films, Revolution Studios, Miramax Films, Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, Pixar, TriStar, Screen Gems, Sony Classics and Warren Miller Films. Select first-run theatrical films from The Weinstein Company, IFC and Yari Film Group are also available. Starz Play also supplies access to a streaming version of the live Starz TV channel on all unlimited plans at no additional cost.

While access to choices from the Starz Play service is included with all Unlimited plans, we do have a plan that limits what is available to Starz Play service choices only. Can I get DVDs by mail from Netflix?

Yes. During sign up, you can add unlimited DVDs (1 DVD out-at-a-time plan) for only $7.99 more a month. With DVDs by mail, you'll get an even broader selection of movies & TV episodes. You can exchange each DVD as often as you want with no due dates or late fees — ever! You can add access to Blu-ray discs to your account at any time for an additional $2 a month.
