Anna Mae Bullock (Angela Bassett) is a little girl with a man's voice, whose life changes forever when she meets slick musician Ike Turner (Laurence Fishburne). Ike grooms his budding star, marries her and renames her Tina. But repeated run-ins with his fists shatter her spirit. With nothing left but her name and her talent, she re-emerges on the pop scene at the top of her game. The film is based on Tina's best-selling autobiography "I, Tina."
