Andy Garcia stars as Sean Casey, a policeman turned lawyer who's handed a career-making case when the district attorney lets him prosecute a cop-killing drug peddler. Sean's father (Ian Holm), a seasoned New York police officer, was injured while trying to nab the culprit, so when Sean prevails in court, a double celebration is in order. But his moral code gets tested when he learns that his father may have compromised the case.
