At the beginning of World War I, a young married couple faces hard times when the woman's hardnosed father pays an extended visit to help them take care of their children as the husband prepares to go to France and fight in the war. Matthew Broderick stars in this affecting drama written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Horton Foote (To Kill a Mockingbird, Tender Mercies).
