French auteur Jean-Luc Godard directs this meditative work that follows French suburban housewife Juliette Janson (Marina Vlady), who occasionally abandons her family to work as a prostitute in the heart of Paris. As Juliette moves through the Parisian night, director Godard offers lush visual images and provocative reflections on life in a beautiful but self-destructive, hyper-commercialized age teetering on the brink of nuclear annihilation.
