According to the ancient Mayan calendar, the last day of history will be Dec. 21, 2012. This provocative documentary looks at the doomsday prophecy and the attention it has received -- and asks whether the 2012 date is really about the "end." Instead, the filmmakers suggest, humankind may be on the verge of a complete transformation in its nature, and 2012 will mark the beginning of a whole new historical cycle.
