Bank manager Kailash Nath (Alok Nath) arranges a marriage between his son Kishan (Salman Khan) and Sanam (Manisha Koirala), the daughter of the bank's security guard (Kiran Kumar). But when his bank is robbed shortly after the wedding, Kailash is pegged for the crime and sentenced to 12 years in prison. When released, he has difficulty adjusting to society -- and locating his own family -- while making a startling discovery about his incarceration.
