After being diagnosed with a serious illness, a desperate young boy named Seamus (Ciaran Flynn) sets out on a journey to find God and meets two unlikely companions: James, a teenage runaway whose father has passed away, and Darry, an ex-convict on the lam. On a small island in the middle of a lake, these three strangers become close friends, relying on one another to help get through the adversity life has thrown their way.
