To help his mother (Shelley Winters) keep her greasy spoon afloat, the overweight and timid Victor (Pruitt Taylor Vince) pitches in as a short-order cook. He's painfully self-conscious and afraid to oblige his most basic desires -- until a beautiful college dropout (Liv Tyler) shows up. If Victor wants to win her heart, he'll have to conquer his own insecurities. James Mangold directs this touching film co-starring Deborah Harry and Evan Dando.
