In this affecting love story, a blithe young man is determined to win the heart of the girl he adores. Rough-edged college student Sethu ("Chiyaan" Vikram) sets his sights on the conservative Abitha, who finds him obnoxious and rejects him. So Sethu cleans up his act and endears himself to Abitha and her family by showing his gentle side. But just as his fortunes seem to be changing for the better, fate tragically intervenes.
