A Double Life

Ronald Colman portrays a veteran stage actor who, while playing Othello, falls victim to the actor's malady of mixing roles with reality -- a dangerous affliction in this case, as he plays the jealous Moor opposite his ex-wife in the production. Director George Cukor confidently guides this brooding and cynical film noir that features what is arguably Colman's peak performance (he won a Best Actor Oscar for the role).
