Flame of Barbary Coast

John Wayne is Duke Fergus, a Montana cowboy who travels to San Francisco to collect a debt from crooked gambler Tito Morell, owner of a casino on the Barbary Coast. After falling for an entertainer named Flaxen (Ann Dvorak) and losing more money to Tito, Duke goes home, learns to gamble, returns and makes a fortune -- whereupon he opens his own place with Flaxen as the entertainer. But the 1906 quake will soon change their lives dramatically.
