In her first starring role, Julia Stiles plays Ellie Chistianson, a seriously disturbed 14-year-old. Unlike most teen girls, Ellie's problems extend far beyond boyfriends and popularity: She appears to be assuming the identity of her dead mother (Chelsea Field). Dad Benjamin (William R. Moses) is at first confused, but that confusion soon turns to terror.
