When their unconventional efforts to capture notorious drug lord Julio Gonzales (Jimmy Smits) raise the ire of their bosses, wisecracking detectives Ray Hughes (Gregory Hines) and Danny Costanzo (Billy Crystal) are forced to take a much-needed vacation in the Florida Keys. While contemplating retirement, Ray and Danny return home to Chicago to settle some unfinished business, vowing to bring down Gonzales once and for all.
