After seeing his father betrayed and executed in 60 B.C., valiant Vercingétorix (Christopher Lambert) resolves to carry on his sire's legacy by uniting all the Gallic tribes to save their homeland from Julius Caesar (Klaus Maria Brandauer) and his invading Roman army. Max von Sydow co-stars as Guttuart, the judicious and philosophical druid elder who guides the young Vercingétorix in this historical epic.
