John "Dingo" Anderson (Colin Friels) -- an Australian trapper with a passion for the trumpet -- experiences a midlife crisis that motivates him to live out his life's dream: to fly to Paris, locate jazz trumpeter Billy Cross (jazz legend Miles Davis) and play for his hero. Overwhelmed by the commotion of the big city, Dingo struggles to find the reclusive musician who has not played publicly in years.
