Director Peter Bogdanovich revisits small-town Texas life -- more than 30 years after Duane (Jeff Bridges), Sonny (Timothy Bottoms) and Jacy (Cybill Shepherd) graduated from high school -- in this long-awaited sequel to his 1971 masterpiece The Last Picture Show. When Jacy returns from abroad as Anarene is preparing to host the county's centennial celebration, the three friends find that life in their sleepy hometown is still bittersweet.
