In this action-packed homage to A Chinese Ghost Story, a beautiful spirit (Cherie Chung) who appears as a delicate little swallow falls in love with a mortal scholar (Anthony Wong). When the spirit's demonic lord threatens to take the scholar's life, the doomed couple must seek help from a mysterious swordsman (Norman Tsui) who alone has the power to fight the creature.
