Shortly after small-town detective Kyle Bodine (Ed Harris) begins a passionate affair with a gorgeous local woman, Rachel Monro (Madeleine Stowe), Rachel's wealthy, abusive husband (Charles Dance) is brutally murdered. Naturally, her lover immediately becomes Suspect No. 1. Now, in order to clear his name, Kyle must first wade through a maze of deceit to find out the truth. Benicio Del Toro co-stars in this noir thriller, reminiscent of Double Indemnity.
