Nursing a broken heart after his mother's sudden death, teen Watts Davies (Will Rothhaar) ends up in the custody of his estranged father (Randy Quaid). Struggling to adjust, Watts finds solace -- and a connection with his dad -- as a go-kart driver. Desperate to race in the regional championship, Watts relies on the advice of his father and a new friend (David Gallagher), who help him develop what it takes to be a winner on and off the track.
