Anjalihas comes to the city from a small town in search of work and a better life. While looking for a house, she meets Aftab, who is also searching for a place to live. A small-time real estate agent offers them both a house if they are ready to pose as husband and wife to the owner -- Tiku Talsania, a miserly money lender who doesn't trust his own (very young) wife, Upasana Singh.
