The Householder

College professor Prem (Shashi Kapoor) and comely Indu (Leela Naidu) seem to be a mismatch in their arranged marriage. Although Prem grudgingly accepts his role as provider, he tries to transform Indu into a more traditional wife. But after Indu becomes pregnant and Prem seeks out his mother's advice, the couple seems destined for a nasty breakup. Directed by James Ivory and written by Merchant-Ivory perennial screenwriter Ruth Prawer Jhabvala.
