Louie (Joe Pesci) is an unrepentant New York slum landlord who's given four months to repair one of his crumbling apartment blocks. But Louie's big problem is that he must live in the run-down building until the repairs are completed. To add insult to injury, Louie's father (Vincent Gardenia) is the real boss and has no intention of paying for the repairs. That leaves Louie to live in the purgatory his tenants endure year round.
