Turning a thoughtful lens on New York Yankee baseball legends Roger Maris (Barry Pepper) and Mickey Mantle (Thomas Jane), director Billy Crystal's Emmy-winning HBO drama follows the two opposites as they attempt to break Babe Ruth's 1927 single-season home run record. While the fans align themselves with one player, the players hope the other will be the winner, infusing the season with tension, excitement and anticipation.
