John (James LeGros) lives in beautiful Venice Beach, but finds little to appreciate in his surroundings. His life is full of strange pals, sweaty sex, gangsters, bureaucrats, fanatics and weirdos. All he wants is peace of mind and a little piece of the action. But it doesn't seem to come easily. What will it take to make him turn his life around and seek a more meaningful existence?
