When an honest mistake lands him in the crosshairs of the local police, naïve villager Mohan (Raj Kapoor) escapes into an overcrowded apartment building and stumbles across one episode after another of despicable behavior and shocking transgressions. This classic Bollywood comedy also stars Rashid Khan as the bootlegger Kailash, Nemo as the counterfeiter Ramnarayan Malik, and Sulochana Chatterjee as the unassuming wife of a degenerate gambler.
