When best-selling author Kit Madden (Claudette Colbert) hops a train to Hollywood to oversee the filming of her latest novel, she encounters a pair of Marines, one of whom (John Wayne) she thinks would be perfect to portray the war hero in her book. Not knowing that Kit is the author, though, the guys profess nothing but disdain for the story. Don DeFore co-stars, and a long list of celebrities (including Jack Benny) make appearances.
