Ingmar Bergman directed this documentary about the making of his autobiographical, Oscar-winning masterpiece, Fanny and Alexander. His filmmaking techniques and creative processes are revealed as he creates the most personal film of his career. Bergman is shown working with cinematographer Sven Nykvist and actors Erland Josephson, Gunnar Björnstrand and Harriet Andersson as he strives to achieve his vision.
