Shy teen Jonathan Bellah (Doug McKeon) goes from gawky to cocky when he starts hanging out with cool new neighbor Gene Harbrough (Chris Nash), whose "guidance" includes taking his protégé on escapades with fast cars and fast women. Meanwhile, Jonathan lusts after the sexy Marilyn (Kelly Preston). Set in 1956, this amiable comedy co-stars Catherine Mary Stewart and Jami Gertz, and features the music of Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly.
