After killing an old witch by mistake, a group of teenagers (including "Punky Brewster" child star Soleil Moon Frye) accidentally resuscitate the demonic Pumpkinhead (Mark McCracken). Only now, he's propelled by the soul of a deformed, murdered boy. With his mind on revenge, Pumpkinhead seeks out the people who brought him back to life, as well as the rowdy group of hooligans who caused the deformed boy's death.
