Los Angeles detective Mr. T (Robert Hooks) gets caught up in the middle of a gang war in this 1970s blaxploitation drama. Hired by two criminals to uncover the identity of a mysterious rival, the smooth-talking P.I. cruises the mean streets in his Lincoln Mark IV, staying cool even when he's pulled into a violent underworld clash. Soul man Marvin Gaye scored the film's jazzy soundtrack. Paul Winfield, Bill Smithers and Ralph Waite co-star.
