When private eye Mike Hammer (Stacy Keach) agrees to protect star witness Chris Jameson (Michelle Phillips), who just so happens to be his former lover, he has no idea what he's getting himself into. First, she mysteriously drops dead … then, he discovers a daughter he never knew he had. This made-for-television drama preceded the successful "Mike Hammer" detective series, based on the hard-boiled novels by Mickey Spillane.
