Disguised as mild-mannered police station janitor Penrod "Penry" Pooch, Hong Kong Phooey (voiced by Scatman Crothers) keeps his ears open for criminal news. When his crime-fighting talents are needed, Penry dives into a filing cabinet and emerges as a bumbling martial arts superhero. Traveling in his Phooeymobile, the karate-chopping mutt always manages to save the day -- with a little help from his trusty sidekick cat, Spot.
