With this 114-minute reconstruction of the Dust Devil work print, viewers get a glimpse of director Richard Stanley's original vision for his atmospheric thriller, which the studio recut without his permission. In the film, lonely Wendy Robinson (Chelsea Field) drives aimlessly through the desert, pausing only to pick up a handsome drifter (Robert John Burke). Unfortunately for her, that handsome drifter turns out to be a shape-shifting killer.
