Du Barry Was a Lady

  (1943)
Hapless hatcheck clerk Louis Blore (Red Skelton) downs a spiked cocktail and awakens in 17th-century France as King Louis XV. There, he woos the charming Madame Du Barry (Lucille Ball), who bears an uncanny resemblance to May Daly, his crush in the real world. Gene Kelly and Virginia O'Brien co-star in this infectious musical comedy that features the classic songs "Friendship," "You Are My Sunshine" and "I'm Getting Sentimental over You."
