After his mother remarries, 12-year-old Ricky Stratton (Rick Schroder) moves in with his wealthy father, Edward (Joel Higgins), in the debut season of the family-friendly comedy. The series kicks off with father and son getting to know each other as kid-at-heart Edward tries to be a responsible father without spoiling Ricky. Season 1 finds the pair in misadventures involving bullies, girls, custody battles and lost orangutans, just to name a few.
