In this Tribeca Film Festival selection, Wazhmah Osman returns to her homeland of Afghanistan to reflect on her severed roots and reconnect with her father, who stayed behind when his wife and children fled during the 1979 Soviet invasion. At first, Osman struggles to understand why her father would choose his countrymen over his family. But she finds surprising answers amid the nation's war-torn past.
