After losing a hand in a freak accident, Kali (Rajnikanth) can no longer work and struggles to put his life back together with help from his wife, Manga (Jayalakshmi). When his antagonistic ex-boss, Kumaran (Sarathbabu) falls for Kali's sister, Valli (Shubha), and wants to marry her, Kali puts his foot down. But Manga schemes behind her husband's back to unite Kumaran and Valli, leaving her torn between love and family in this moving Tamil tale.
