Giuseppe Tornatore (Cinema Paradiso) directs this award-winning tale of Irina (Kseniya Rappoport), a young woman who escapes the sex trade in her native Ukraine and starts anew in an Italian village, working as a house servant to a wealthy couple and their young daughter. Over time, Irina ingratiates herself into the family's trust. But when a man from her past shows up uninvited, her newfound comfort is suddenly at risk.
