Nancy Goes to Rio

  (1950)
When aspiring actress Nancy (Jane Powell) lands a part in a Broadway musical, she flies to Rio to tell her vacationing mother (Ann Sothern) the good news in person. There's one hitch: Mom is the show's star, and she's not thrilled about sharing the stage with her daughter. To make matters worse, both ladies have an eye on the show's leading man (Barry Sullivan). Nine songs, including a showstopper by Carmen Miranda, accompany the proceedings.
