A family's dysfunctions come bubbling to the surface when, after several years away, wayward daughter Letty (Karen Sillas) returns to her Texas hometown to attend a local gallery's showcase of her artwork. Recrimination and resentment pervade the reunion as Letty faces an overbearing mother (Shirley Knight), a cold-hearted father and a long-standing rivalry with her sister who opted for a husband and family in lieu of a singing career.
