Le Million
(1931)|
An impoverished artist discovers he's purchased a winning lottery ticket at the moment his creditors come to collect. Unfortunately, the ticket is in the pocket of his threadbare coat, which he left in his less-than-reliable girlfriend's apartment. Next thing you know, she gives the coat to a man hiding from the police, who sells it to an opera singer for a performance in this influential, inventive screwball comedy directed by René Clair.
