Curious about his deceased father, young Carlos (Luis Castro) arrives in Almeria, Spain, and contacts his alcoholic grandfather Julian (Sancho Gracia), a former Clint Eastwood stunt double rumored to have caused Carlos's father's death years earlier. A has-been from another era, Julian now spends his days staging Western shows for tourists on abandoned film sets. But the presence of the boy may just inject a shot of life into the old man.
