In this thriller based on a novel by Ira Levin, ambitious Jonathan Corliss (Matt Dillon) woos Dorothy Carlsson (Sean Young) to cozy up to her rich mogul father (Max von Sydow). But his scheme crumbles when Dorothy gets pregnant and fears being disinherited. Jonathan engineers a second shot at the family fortune by murdering Dorothy -- staged as a suicide -- and moving on to her twin sister, Ellen (Young).
