When New York cop Emily Eden (Melanie Griffith) goes undercover in a Hasidic Jewish community to solve the brutal murder of a jeweler, she falls for devout religious student Ariel (Eric Thal) in this romantic drama from Sidney Lumet. Though Ariel becomes involved in helping Emily track down clues to solve the case, a romantic relationship between them is forbidden by the rules of his community. John Pankow and James Gandolfini co-star.
