A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court / The Emperor Waltz
(1948)|
Johnny Burke "musicalizes" Mark Twain's classic story, with Bing Crosby as a mechanic who gets transported into the past and ends up a wisecracking wizard in King Arthur's court. In The Emperor Waltz, Crosby once again deals with royals: This time, he sells record players to members of the Austrian court of Emperor Franz Joseph. Joan Fontaine co-stars, and Billy Wilder directs.
