A Different Story

Albert (Perry King) is a gay illegal alien camping out in an empty mansion. Stella (Meg Foster) is a lesbian real estate agent showing the home to a client. The two strangers meet and become unlikely lovers. They eventually agree to marry to prevent Albert's deportation, but the straight life goes crooked when Albert's ex comes back into town. The 1978 film marks a relatively early attempt at exploring homosexuality in mainstream American cinema.
