Cultures clash in Ken Loach's thoughtful drama about a romance between an Irish Catholic woman and a man from a devout Muslim family. When Pakistani Casim (Atta Yaqub) meets Roisin (Eva Birthistle), a white teacher at Casim's sister's school in Glasgow, the two fall in love. But their families soon learn of the relationship, and the couple must deal with severe repercussions as they confront their disapproving kin.
