A Lion in the House

  (2006)
Nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, this documentary follows five families over a six-year period as they battle pediatric cancer. Putting viewers in the shoes of parents, physicians, nurses, siblings, grandparents, social workers and the young cancer victims themselves -- Alex, Tim, Justin, Jen and Al (who range in age from 6 to 19 at the film's outset) -- the film sheds light on growing up in the shadow of illness.
