Scott Fitzgerald's pronouncement that there are no second acts in American lives, former Marine Oliver North (he of the sad, basset hound expression) emerged from the Iran-Contra scandal to run for the U.S. Senate in 1994. During the heated race, documentarians were granted access to view the back-room machinations hatched by the candidates, their handlers and the press. For budding politicos, it's a real eye-opener!
